Optomec, Inc. Signs Agreement with Multistation SA for Sales and Support of LENS 3D Metal Printers in France
Sep 17 14
Optomec, Inc. announced that it has signed an agreement with Multistation SA's to be its representative in France for its LENS family of 3D Metal Printers. The versatile printers and print engines are used to cost-effectively repair, rework and manufacture high-performance metal components in materials such as titanium, stainless steel, and super alloys. Multistation has an established track record in supporting advanced manufacturing solutions in key industrial sectors, including automotive, aerospace, railways, energy and defense. LENS printers use the energy from a high-power laser to build up structures one layer at a time directly from powdered metals. The resulting fully functional metal structures offer excellent mechanical properties, similar to wrought components for many applications.
Optomec Launches Aerosol Jet 5X System
Sep 4 14
Optomec announced the availability of its 3D printer family, the Aerosol Jet 5X system for printing 3D electronics. The system delivers the precision and flexibility required to produce high resolution 3D printed electronics such as conformal antennas, sensors, and circuits used in consumer electronics, automotive, aerospace and medical applications. Equipped with an Optomec Sprint(R) Print Module and a 5-axis coordinated motion platform, the Aerosol Jet 5X system is ideally suited for 3D printed micro-electronics development applications. The Aerosol Jet 5X system can also be optionally configured with an Optomec Marathon(R) Print Module extending the printer's capabilities from prototyping to low volume production applications.
Optomec Receives Order for LENS Print Engine
Jul 10 14
Optomec announced that its LENS Print Engine for metal components has been adopted by the Center for Remanufacturing and Resources Recovery (C3R) at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). The system at C3R will retrofit LENS 3D metal printing capabilities within a conventional CNC vertical milling machine enabling a hybrid additive/subtractive manufacturing work cell. The hybrid manufacturing work cell will be used for both research and commercial production in the remanufacture and repair of high value metallic components used by the Transportation, Medical and Aviation industries.
