HSBC Bank Oman S.A.O.G. reported unaudited preliminary earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2015. For the quarter, the company net profit was up by 22.6% to OMR 3.8 million, compared to OMR 3.1 million for the same period in 2014, due to an increase in net operating income before loan impairment charges. Net operating income before loan impairment charges increased by 15.5% to OMR 18.6 million, compared to OMR 16.1 million for the same period in 2014, due to higher net interest income, net fee income and other operating income. Net interest income increased by 5.2% to OMR 12.1 million, compared to OMR 11.5 million for the same period in 2014, due to an increase in corporate loans and advances.
