LATICRETE Announces 70,000-Square-Foot Expansion of Manufacturing and Distribution Facility in Grand Prairie, Texas
Jun 9 16
LATICRETE announced the expansion of its manufacturing and distribution facility in Grand Prairie, Texas, with a ground-breaking ceremony. Construction of the 70,000-square-foot (6,503-square-meter) addition to the existing 100,000-square-foot (9,290-square-meter) LATICRETE facility will begin immediately and is expected to be completed in the spring of 2017. The Grand Prairie facility is the company's larger manufacturing and distribution center outside of the LATICRETE headquarters in Bethany, Conn. The facility manufacturers a wide array of products for the construction industry, employs a staff of more than 30 and recently added a third shift to meet steadily increasing demand. The Grand Prairie facility services the customers in the Texas sales region and serves as a national and international distribution hub for LATICRETE. The expanded space will be used immediately for warehousing and will position the facility to meet potential future manufacturing needs. The plant expansion coincides with a period of unprecedented growth for the family-owned and privately held LATICRETE. Over the past three years the company has acquired three companies and expanded the product lines it offers. LATICRETE also recently completed an expansion of a similar facility in Pottstown, Pa., which serves the northeastern U.S. sales region.

LATICRETE Announces Introduction of FRACTURE BAN Membrane
Jan 26 16
LATICRETE announced the introduction of the FRACTURE BAN membrane, a high-performance, pliable, light weight peel and stick membrane designed for use under thin-bed adhesives for ceramic tile, stone and other hard surface installations. This reinforced high-strength membrane performs as an anti-fracture and an acoustical underlayment system that eliminates the transmission of stresses from the substrate while dampening the transmission of impact and air borne noise through the floor to the room below. With the release of the FRACTURE BAN membrane, LATICRETE is also launching the specially formulated FRACTURE BAN Primer. The FRACTURE BAN membrane comes in 40 mil (FRACTURE BAN 40) and 90 mil (FRACTURE BAN 90) thicknesses. Both thicknesses are tested to ANSI A118.12 (anti-fracture) and ANSI A118.13 (sound reduction) specifications. And, both are suitable for almost any substrate including: concrete slabs; cement mortar beds; exterior glue plywood; precast floor panels; gypsum underlayments; radiant heated floors; ceramic tile; terrazzo; stone; self-leveling and patching compounds; backer board; and, existing VAT, VCT and vinyl floors. Made from a hot-applied polymer modified asphaltic adhesive coated on a 100% non-woven polyester with a 60 pound release liner paper, the FRACTURE BAN membrane has the physical properties to prevent stress and sound transmission. This water-resistive barrier installs quickly and features a white, non-woven surface that provides easy chalk line identification. Released alongside the FRACTURE BAN membrane, FRACTURE BAN Primer is a concentrated premium-quality, water-based primer designed to be applied prior to the installation of FRACTURE BAN membrane. This multi-purpose primer may be broom, roller, or spray applied and can be used on the same range of substrates as the FRACTURE BAN membrane. FRACTURE BAN Primer penetrates deeply into substrates to maximize bond strength. Available in 1 gallon (3.8 L), 5 gallon (18.9 L) and 245 gallon (927.4 L) sizes, FRACTURE BAN Primer is designed to be diluted with water. When diluted with 1 gallon (3.8 L) of water, 1 gallon (3.8 L) of concentrate will cover approximately 285 ft2 (26.5 m2).
