Starwood And Davidson Kempner Bid For Harcourt Nama Auction

Apollo Global Management, LLC (NYSE:APO) has emerged as the winning bidder for Nama loans attached to Harcourt Developments Limited, according to industry sources. Other bidders included Starwood Capital Group and Davidson Kempner Capital Management LLC, in a process that has run through several rounds since April, 2016.

Us Firms Reportedly Bidding For Harcourt Loans

Apollo Global Real Estate Management, L.P. reportedly is to be leading final bidders vying to buy about EUR 650 million of loans linked to a property portfolio held by Harcourt Developments Limited. The loans, known as Project Abbey, are being sold by the National Asset Management Agency Ltd. and are expected to trade for less half their nominal value. However, borrowings associated with a office and leisure complex, Park West in west Dublin are believed to be a core part of the portfolio. Final bids for the portfolio were filed last week to NAMA's advisers on the sale, KPMG in Dublin. These include offers from Oaktree Capital Group, LLC (NYSE: OAK) and a joint submission from New York hedge fund Davidson Kempner and Deutsche Bank. Nama has begun the process of finding a buyer for a loan book linked to part of the valuable property portfolio held by Pat Doherty’s Harcourt Developments Limited. KPMG acted as an accountant to Harcourt Developments Limited.
