Navigant Consulting, Inc. announced that James “Jim” Mapes has joined the company as a key member of its healthcare practice leadership team and leader of Navigant Cymetrix. Mapes brings more than 25 years of senior management experience to the leadership role, including more than a decade in healthcare business process operations and technology services. He comes to Navigant from Genpact (formerly GE Capital), where he led the organization’s global healthcare business and served as practice leader for the integrated healthcare and life sciences business. Prior to Genpact, Mapes served as senior vice president for global BPO growth, payment integrity, and operations at Optum, UnitedHealth Group’s health services platform.
University of Alabama at Birmingham Selects Navigant Cymetrix to Implement Revenue Cycle Management

Navigant Cymetrix announced it was selected by University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Health System on behalf of itself and its members (collectively referred to as UABHS) to manage revenue cycle operations. This collaborative, seven-year agreement covers physician and hospital revenue cycle operations and is intended to provide value and consistency across the health system. Revenue cycle management, which encompasses administrative and business office functions associated with the processing and payment of medical claims, will be streamlined. The initial phase of the program includes UAB Hospital and centralized clinics of University of Alabama Health Services Foundation, UABHS’ faculty practice plan, involving more than 1,000 physicians across the state. Implementation planning begins in August 2016 and services are scheduled to go live beginning October 1, 2016. As the healthcare industry transitions to a value payment model, Navigant Cymetrix offers UABHS the ability to consolidate revenue cycle workflows, to better integrate functions, to improve processes, and to collect more effectively. As part of its suite of comprehensive revenue cycle management solutions, Navigant Cymetrix effectively and efficiently manages the revenue cycle performance of its healthcare provider clients through its extended business office services, including accounts receivable management, payer account follow up, and self-pay account resolution.
