InterGlobe Enterprises Limited is talking to potential buyers for its Hudson News Cafe convenience stores at Delhi Metro stations, reported MINT citing two people familiar with the negotiations. One of the two people said, "Retail is not its (Interglobe's) core business. The move is indicative of their exit from retail altogether." Both the people declined to be named. An InterGlobe spokesman said by an email, "The company was evaluating options, including looking at rationalizing the location of a few outlets in consultation with Delhi Metro Rail Corp. Ltd." InterGlobe Enterprises and CAE Inc. Inaugurates CAE Simulation Training Private Limited
Nov 23 13
InterGlobe Enterprises and CAE Inc. inaugurated their ultra-modern pilot training facility in Greater Noida, National Capital Region (NCR). The centre, CAE Simulation Training Private Limited (CSTPL), is a joint venture between InterGlobe Enterprises and CAE. An investment of over $25 million has already been made in setting up the facility and equipment. During the inauguration ceremony, CAE and Interglobe announced a long-term pilot training services agreement with GoAir, a low-fare domestic carrier. Starting in December 2013, GoAir's A320 pilots will train at the facility. With its six simulator bays, the centre will have the capacity to train over 5,000 aviation professionals per year, and will be the largest such facility in India. The facility provides "wet" and "dry" type-rating, recurrent, conversion and jet indoctrination training for commercial aircraft pilots. It features two CAE Series 5000 A320 full-flight simulators certified level D. Pilots and students can benefit from advanced training technology such as CAE Simfinity multimedia classrooms, computer-based training and brief/debrief facilities. This will also be the first centre in India to impart Airbus certified training. The centre started operations in August 2013 and already provides training to IndiGo pilots. CSTPL is the fifth aviation training location that CAE operates in India. CAE already trains more than 1,500 crewmembers every year at its training centre in Bengaluru, the first independent training centre in India and the first to earn approval as a fixed-wing Type Rating Training Organization (TRTO). CAE also operates a joint venture helicopter training centre in Bengaluru equipped with the first advanced, full-fidelity helicopter simulators in India. In partnership with the Government of India, CAE also operates ab-initio flight schools in Gondia and Rae Bareli.
