Wikia Inc. announced the hiring Lawrence Yee as FANDOM Editor-in-Chief. In this newly created role, Yee will apply his 15 years of experience to shape and lead the site's editorial direction across all market editions, which includes the U.S. and U.K. FANDOM is a global entertainment media brand driven by the mission to make fans better fans. Yee will lead the expansion of coverage breadth and depth across the brand's media channels with a focus on new, original programming as well as spearhead branded content strategy. He will also manage FANDOM's editorial team and its domestic and international growth. Yee will be based out of the Santa Monica, California office. Prior to joining FANDOM, Yee was at leading entertainment industry media publisher Variety, where he was Deputy Editor of its digital property.

Lionsgate and Fandom Form Strategic Partnership to Reach Fan Communities

Lionsgate and Fandom announced ground-breaking strategic partnership to reach fan communities across Lionsgate's broad portfolio of filmed entertainment brands and franchises. The multiyear agreement expands a strategic relationship that ramped up with the companies partnership on the box office breakout John Wick: Chapter Two, Starz's eagerly-anticipated television series American Gods, which debuts April 30th, 2017 and the global brand Saban's Power Rangers. By deepening Lionsgate's engagement and connection with the fan communities for its properties, the pact will enable the Company to continue to refine its marketing strategies, expand the worlds of its franchises and create fresh content for fans. In addition, Fandom users will have access to enhanced content experiences based on Lionsgate intellectual property, some of it exclusive. Over the term of the agreement Lionsgate and Fandom will each commit additional marketing resources across the platform.

Wikia Launches Content Studio in Los Angeles; Appoints Anthony Cava as Head of Video

Wikia expanded its video capabilities with the launch of a dedicated Content Studio in Los Angeles, as the company further establishes its original content and programming for entertainment fans. The new studio, charged with developing video content to run across Wikia's newest media property, Fandom, offers passionate entertainment fans comprehensive coverage on their favorite movies, television shows and games. The studio will be fully equipped to host talent interviews, original video programming, and unique branded content. The studio will be led by Anthony Cava who will serve as Head of Video. As Head of Video, Cava will expand video production from one studio in San Francisco to two dedicated studios, adding a new studio in Los Angeles, to grow video branded content capabilities and lead new fan engagement opportunities. Prior to Wikia, he ventured into digital media as a video producer for IGN Entertainment and later launched his Flash-Frame production company in 2012.
