Xirrus EasyPass Integrates With Microsoft Office 365 for Easy, Instant Wi-Fi Access
Sep 22 16
Xirrus announced integration with Microsoft Office 365 authentication to streamline Wi-Fi connectivity for organizations using Microsoft cloud-based office applications. A feature of the Xirrus EasyPass suite of access services, this new functionality simplifies and expedites how organizations deliver secure Wi-Fi access via the cloud-based Microsoft authentication system they are already using. To save on costs and meet performance requirements, businesses increasingly leverage cloud-hosted offerings over self-hosted or stand-alone applications. According to a recent 451 Research survey, cloud-first workload deployments in enterprises are common, as 38% of enterprise respondents indicated that they prioritize cloud-managed applications over on-premise applications. Microsoft cloud-based applications for businesses have one of the footprints within the enterprise. Adoption for Microsoft Office 365 soared from 12.4 million subscribers to 22.2 million between Microsoft's fiscal third quarter of 2015 and third quarter of 2016. Xirrus EasyPass with Microsoft Office 365 integration adds additional cost and performance benefits by combining authentication through the Microsoft cloud ecosystem with local Wi-Fi network access. Microsoft login credentials, unique to every person and used to access Microsoft applications, now also provide access to the Xirrus Wi-Fi network with a single sign-on experience.
Xirrus Introduces XPS to Deliver Wi-Fi Location Services on the Market
Aug 2 16
Xirrus, Inc. announced Xirrus Positioning System (XPS), integrated within the Xirrus Management System (XMS), which provides organizations with real-time visibility into the location of Wi-Fi clients both associated and unassociated to the network. XPS is the only Wi-Fi location data solution available that distributes the highly intensive calculation of client location across all access points (APs) within the network. With more processing power than any competitive solution, XPS provides a faster way for businesses to pinpoint locations on a massive scale, up to 100,000 devices simultaneously, without the need for an expensive centralized engine. Business success depends on continuous engagement with connected customers and guests. The ability to process location data for tens of thousands of Wi-Fi devices instantaneously, opens the door to a range of business specific applications for unique user experiences at retail shops, public malls, hotels, convention centers, sports arenas and more. XPS provides organizations that offer guest Wi-Fi the ability to deliver a connected and tailored experience for their customers, such as social integration, venue promotion or loyalty awards programs, to differentiate themselves from competitors. The benefits span a wide-range of use cases: retail stores can optimize display locations, hospitals can make it easier to locate equipment, museums can deliver audio narrative by exhibit, sports fans can find concession stands with short lines, and enterprises can locate rogue APs.
