Shiseido Americas Corporation Unveils Americas Innovation Center in New Jersey

Shiseido Americas Corporation unveiled its newly enhanced facility in East Windsor, New Jersey, which has been significantly expanded to accommodate advanced R&D activities in the Americas. The Americas Innovation Center will strengthen company's consumer research, information development and product development in the Americas and around the world, and will closely collaborate with Shiseido’s recently launched Center of Excellence for Makeup, which is based in New York City. The Americas Innovation Center is part of company’s commitment to enhancing its global R&D network, which currently includes nine laboratories in key markets. The East Windsor site, which has expanded from 6,600 square feet to 22,000 square feet, will now be home to a number of functions previously housed in Japan, including development of product information, product safety assurance, and intellectual property management.

Based in New York, the Center of Excellence will serve as a global innovation center for the design, development and execution of prestige color cosmetics initiatives across the company in support of all of its makeup brands. Ms. Scalamandre will assume her position on July 21, 2016. Ms. Scalamandre previously served as Chief Marketing Officer, Skincare, Coty and Senior Vice President, philosophy. Ms. Scalamandre is a seasoned executive in the beauty industry with deep experience that spans mass and luxury brands, all personal care categories and multiple distribution channels, including mass, specialty store, department store, home shopping, club and direct. At Coty, Ms. Scalamandre was responsible for leading the marketing strategies of the philosophy and Lancaster brands and for the global expansion of philosophy.
