Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center is now offering a wide range of adult and pediatric outpatient services at a single location in Greensboro. Wake Forest Baptist Health Medical Plaza-North Elm, at 3903 N. Elm St. in the Lake Jeanette neighborhood of Greensboro, consolidates Wake Forest Baptist's existing Guilford County clinical practices at an easily accessible, patient-friendly facility. The adult clinics at Medical Plaza-North Elm include heart failure, neurosurgery, reproductive medicine, spine, surgical specialties, urology, urological gynecology and weight management. The Brenner Children's Hospital pediatric clinics at the location include cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, hematology and oncology, kidney, urology and weight management. The facility also features ultrasound services and fully equipped clinical labs. Medical Plaza-North Elm is the result of a $1.5 million renovation of an existing building. The project architect was Triad Design Group of Greensboro and the general contractor was Builders of Winston-Salem Wake Forest Baptist occupies approximately 23,000 of the two-story structure's 32,500 square feet of floor space. The building's other occupants are Compass Financial Partners and Coley Cosmetic & Hand Surgery Center. The Wake Forest Baptist clinics at Medical Plaza-North Elm are open Monday through Friday. Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center announced Robert J. Bob Gfeller, Jr. will assume additional responsibility at the medical center. Adding to his role as executive director for the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma, Gfeller was named Vice President of Communications, Marketing & Media and Chief Marketing Officer, effective from October 27. Gfeller will report to Executive Vice President of Strategy and administration Terry G. Williams. In his new position, Gfeller is responsible for development and implementation of marketing and communications strategies that support and advance the major goals and objectives across the medical center enterprise including: Wake Forest Baptist Health and its strategic affiliates and partners, Wake Forest School of Medicine and support to Wake Forest Innovations. Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Announces Start of Phase II Construction of 50-Bed Addition At Davie Medical Center - Bermuda Run Campus

Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center announced the start of construction of a 50-bed inpatient facility at Davie Medical Center - Bermuda Run campus. Construction of the three-story, 78,220 square foot building will take 18 months, with an opening date expected in spring of 2017. The estimated cost of this addition to the Bermuda Run campus is $47 million. The new building relocates inpatient services from the Mocksville campus to the Bermuda Run campus, consolidating services in one location. In addition to 50 general medical-surgical beds, the addition will also have a cafeteria, an inpatient pharmacy and a chapel as well as offices for some Wake Forest Baptist physicians. Wake Forest Baptist will hold an official groundbreaking for the new facility in December and will announce more specific information at that time.
