Nova Management Pays TempWorks Software Money in Settlement of Hostage Data Lawsuit

Nova Management settles with TempWorks Software agreeing to pay TempWorks an undisclosed sum in settlement of a lawsuit initiated by Nova in 2015. Nova agreed to pay the settlement in exchange for dismissal, and the agreement states that neither party is admitting to wrongful conduct. Nova initiated suit in November of 2015, alleging that the software company refused to provide copies of its operating databases in TempWorks' custody. As part of its initial filing, it sought an injunction compelling TempWorks to produce Nova's databases. Less than two weeks thereafter, Hennepin County District Court Judge Thomas M. Sipkins denied Nova's motion, stating in his order that "TempWorks has not denied Nova access to (its) data. Nova has access to the data through the software, in PDF form, and through the FTP site." As a routine matter, TempWorks provides operating data to its customers upon request in a variety of convenient formats, and makes those available on its customer FTP server.
TempWorks Software Promotes Kevin Prow to Chief Information Officer

TempWorks Software announced Kevin Prow as the company's new chief information officer (CIO). Prior to being named to his new role, Prow held several positions at the company, including support technician, product developer and director of support services. Under Prow's leadership, TempWorks aims to increase its business value and strengthen its product line and full software development cycle. As CIO, Prow guides the development team through the software development cycle from start to finish. He directs the scope, development, design, testing, release, maintenance of the entire product line while working with TempWorks' chief technology officer from an architectural standpoint. Additionally, Prow determines the clearest developmental and strategic roadmap for each engineering plan. When working with existing clients, internal stakeholders and vendor partners, he ensures continued innovation, improved user experience and streamlined operations throughout all communications. He played an instrumental role in implementing the company's payroll funding division in 2009. Since then, Prow served as the director of support services and established the effective support infrastructure that exists within TempWorks.
