Accor Asia Pacific has appointed Mr. Dirk-Jan Rijks as Vice President Global Human Resources Development, Service & Attitude, Global Marketing for Accor Luxury and Upscale Brands. With a wealth of talent management and human resources experience, Dirk will spearhead the Human Resources Development function of more than 300 hotels and resorts globally. Based in Singapore, his primary responsibilities for the Global Accor Luxury and Upscale Brands are to support and participate in brand experience while driving and supporting optimal guest experience strategy and satisfaction through HR programs. He will also contribute to building brand equity, loyalty and brand recognition with a focus on service and attitude. Dirk was previously the Vice President Human Resources Sofitel Asia Pacific with Accor Hospitality, where he was responsible for representing the Human Resources function to ensure brand-related training modules were rolled out within all properties. He also actively participated in various project groups such as the Sofitel Ambassador Program, School of Excellence and GM Entrepreneur. Prior to joining Accor, Dirk held the position of Chief Human Resources & Administration Officer with Qatar National Hotels Company (QNHC) in Doha, Qatar, an asset management company and hotel operator.
