sPower Announces New Appointments

sPower announced the appointment of David Shipley as its Chief Financial Officer, effective August 24, 2015 and the hiring of Ray Henger as Senior Vice President of Structured Finance. Shipley takes over as CFO after spending the last several months as sPower’s Senior Vice President of Structured Finance. Bob Wowk, sPower’s interim CFO, will be moving on to other ventures but will continue to assist with the transition. Shipley joined sPower in February 2015 from Jones Lang LaSalle where he was a Managing Director in the Capital Markets division.
sPower Breaks Ground on 45-Megawatt Sandstone Solar Facility in Florence, Arizona

sPower announced that construction has begun on its 45-megawatt (MW) Sandstone Solar project in Florence, Arizona. The facility is scheduled to start delivering clean, renewable energy by the end of the year 2015 under a 21-year power purchase agreement between sPower and SRP. The Sandstone project successfully secured required permits and approvals from the Town of Florence and the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) for a finding of no significant impact (FONSI) for the project’s Environmental Assessment (EA), greenlighting construction to commence.
