Eduardo Farhat, Managing Director of Darby Overseas Investments, Ltd. states that Darby plans to acquire controlling interest in a logistics company focused on handling commodities and in a renewable energy business. Eduardo adds Darby is already engaged in discussions with investment targets. Darby will seek investment opportunities in the wind power segment because it has lowered operational and performance risks. Darby is looking for wind power complexes that contain several wind farms and could spend between BRL 150 million on development and BRL 500 million on an acquisition. Darby will finance a deal through a combination of its own resources and capital provided by foreign institutional investors.
