Incipio Technologies Announces Licensing Agreement with Burton Snowboards

Incipio Technologies, Inc. and Burton Snowboards have announced a multi-territory, multi-year licensing agreement to produce a range of mobile device accessories. Both the companies are based in the US. The agreement will allow Incipio to manage the manufacturing and distribution of Burton's mobile device accessory offering, including premium cases, portable charging solutions, and speakers, which will all feature seasonal prints and signature designs from Burton. It also includes a co-branded collaboration on rugged, waterproof, portable Bluetooth speakers, with Incipio's audio brand, Braven.

Burton Snowboards announced that after five years in progressive leadership roles within Burton, most recently as COO, Mike Rees will officially step up to the role of CEO. With Mike now running day-to-day operations, Jake Burton will once again become the company's Chairman, focusing on evolving the brands world-class product lines. Now as CEO, Mike will head up product, marketing and sales, as well as operations and finance. Burton Snowboards to Close its Plant in Upstate New York

Burton Snowboards is closing its plant in upstate New York. The company will close its Feura Bush facility outside Albany sometime in mid-April. Burton lists the economy as the reason for closing the plant, which employs 72 full-time warehouse workers, supervisors and seasonal workers who manufacture snowboarding equipment and accessories such as bindings, boots and outerwear. In 2010, Burton announced it would cease manufacturing in Vermont and move production to Austria because of high manufacturing costs.
