In September 1997, UNC Incoporated was acquired by General Electric Company. Previously, UNC Incorporated provided airframe maintenance, modification, and retrofit services. It also provided avionics and aircraft interior installations. The company was engaged in the overhaul and repair of aircraft engines and accessories, and industrial gas turbine engines. In addition, it was engaged in the provision of aircraft maintenance and pilot training contract services; and the manufacturing and remanufacturing of jet engine and aircraft components.
