New York Life Insurance Company announced the appointment of vice president Kathleen Navarro as chief diversity officer, responsible for overseeing all aspects of company’s diversity program. Ms. Navarro succeeds Joanne Rodgers, who will transition to a newly created senior role in Human Resources. Both positions report to senior vice president and chief human resources officer Katherine O’Brien. As chief diversity officer, Ms. Navarro will be responsible for leading the company's diversity and inclusion strategy, which includes talent recruitment, development and retention; and internal and external communications. Ms. Navarro will also work closely with New York Life’s department managers and the company’s seven employee resource groups to align diversity initiatives with business strategies and goals. Most recently, she oversaw the product compliance and operations division of the Life and Long Term Care Department.
New York Life to Increase Dividend Payout by 11% in 2015

New York Life announced its dividend payout will increase next year by 11%, for a total payout of $1.6 billion. Of this, individual life policyholders will receive $1.56 billion in dividends in 2015 - a new record high for the company and a 12% increase over the 2014 level. The company said it will be the third consecutive year of significant dividend increases by New York Life, for an increase of 31% over the $1.19 billion paid to individual life policyholders in 2012.

New York Life announced that Kelli Parsons has joined the company as Chief Corporate Communications and Marketing Officer, effective November 17, 2014. She will assume responsibility for the Corporate Communications Department and will report directly to New York Life Chairman and CEO Ted Mathas. Ms. Parsons has had a distinguished career in communications and marketing management, as well as journalism. Most recently she served as Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer for Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae), the Fortune 20 government sponsored enterprise that enables people to buy, refinance, or rent a home. Ms. Parsons' responsibilities at Fannie Mae included communications, marketing and community engagement. Previously, Ms. Parsons was Vice President of Global Communications and Marketing for Warburg Pincus LLC and an Executive Vice President and General Manager for Hill & Knowlton Ltd, where she headed the firm's corporate practice and its New York and Washington offices.
