Mars Food Promotes Denis Murphy to Sales Director, Replacing Neil Reynolds

Mars Food has promoted Denis Murphy to the role of sales director, replacing Neil Reynolds who is leaving for a new role within grocery. Murphy will be responsible for the UK sales department for the food business, which includes brands such as Dolmio, Uncle Ben's and Seeds of Change. He will also join the UK management team.

Mars Announces Management Changes

Mars appointed Andy Pharoah as a new member of its management team, as the Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Strategic Initiatives. Andy will take over the role from David Kamenetzky who is leaving Mars to start his own business. David's Corporate Strategy responsibilities will shift to CFO Claus Aagaard. Andy Pharoah brings a strong background in international corporate and public affairs to his new role. Andy joined Wrigley Corporate Affairs in Munich in 2008 and has led Wrigley Corporate Affairs based in Chicago since 2009. Over the last four years, he has expanded his accountabilities to also lead Sustainability and Strategy for the Wrigley segment. Andy joined Wrigley from International PR agency Hill & Knowlton. His early career was in UK politics. Together with a partner, David will be starting his own independent business which will invest in small and medium sized high-growth businesses in food, beverages and ingredients. Andy began transitioning into the role over the summer and formally took up his new role as Vice President Corporate Affairs and Strategic Initiatives on September 1, 2016.

Mars Reportedly Seeks To Acquire Buffett's Interest in Wrigley

Mars, Incorporated is planning to acquire Warren Buffett's minority interest in Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company to fully integrate the chewing gum maker with its own operations, the Financial Times reports. Mars will buy the 19.38% stake that Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway holds in Wrigley for an undisclosed amount, the report says.
