Telefonica Digital Unveils Cyber Security Portfolio
Dec 13 13
Telefonica Digital took the wraps off a range of new cyber security solutions that span the consumer and enterprise markets. Developed by its Eleven Paths network security unit, there are four new products on offer. Likely to be the most interesting to consumers is Latch, a smartphone application that gives the user another layer of defence against unauthorised access to online services such as email and Internet banking. Pitched as a 'safety switch for your digital life', it can block access to services so that even if someone obtains the correct log-in credentials, they won't be able to sign in. However, for it to work it requires the online service provider to integrate their service with Latch. The telco also introduced Cyber Detect Threats, a service provided by a team of hacking and fraud experts that helps companies anticipate attacks or manage disruption caused by leaks or theft of sensitive information such as passwords. Telefonica Digital also unveiled Faast and Metashield Protector. The first is able to automatically test a company's network security for potential vulnerabilities, while the second helps organizations prevent data leakage by removing metadata associated with documents in various environments such as Web servers, collaboration services like Microsoft SharePoint, and file servers.
