StubHub Becomes Official Fan-To-Fan Marketplace of the NASL's Minnesota United FC

StubHub has announced a new partnership with Minnesota United FC, in which it will be the official fan-to-fan ticket marketplace of the North American Soccer League club team and 2017/18 Major League Soccer expansion team. As the official fan-to-fan ticket marketplace for Minnesota United FC, StubHub will provide integrated ticket barcoding through its partnership with Spectra Ticketing & Fan Engagement for the 2016 NASL season. Along with leading ticketing solutions provider, Spectra Ticketing & Fan Engagement, the partnership enables barcode integration for ticket holders to seamlessly resell their tickets on StubHub and in turn, provides tickets that are digitally delivered to the buyer. In addition, fans have access to print-at-home tickets and streamlined listings to sell unused tickets. The partnership with Minnesota United FC is effective immediately for the 2016 NASL season, which the team kicks off on April 2, 2016.
StubHub Rolls Out New Ticket Recommendation and Instant Relist Features to Enhance Search, Discovery, and Customer Experience

StubHub announced the launch of a new ticket recommendation feature that will enhance the personalized experience currently available on the e-commerce platform. The “best value” sort option, available on desktop, mobile Web and StubHub’s native iOS and Android app, empowers fans to quickly identify great deals, experience more clarity during the ticket discovery process, and make more informed purchasing decisions. StubHub consistently sells one ticket per second across its immense marketplace, and as a result the company has access to a rich transactional dataset to determine how customers assess seat quality and value. The sophisticated algorithm behind the new best value filter considers this proprietary historical data, as well as price, location, and availability. In addition to viewing tickets by best value, users will continue to have the option of adjusting the filter to search for tickets by price or location. In addition to the new best value offering, Stubhub has also integrated “instant relist” functionality on desktop, mobile Web and StubHub’s native iOS and Android apps. Fans who purchase tickets on StubHub but then cannot attend their event can now easily relist their tickets directly back to the marketplace. The feature allows fans to easily modify how many tickets they’re relisting, the price per ticket and where to send the payment, streamlining the process. In offering these new additions to the platform experience, StubHub joins leading e-commerce companies in prioritizing best-in-class customization and convenience tools for users. The features are the latest in a series of enhancements from StubHub that continually improve the user experience, arriving shortly after the launch of more personalized display options for pricing, as well as a redesigned mobile app with improved recommendation algorithms and discovery engines.

StubHub announced two executive appointments; Jennifer Betka as Chief Marketing Officer and Estanis Martín de Nicolás as the International General Manager. Betka, formerly a senior vice president at Wikia, is tapped to oversee StubHub’s global marketing organization. Her team will build its marketing efforts around StubHub’s commitment to deliver a more personalized experience to users, and ultimately, moves beyond being purely a transactional company into a more end-to-end platform. Betka’s appointment is complemented by new International General Manager Estanis Martín de Nicolás, who joins StubHub from PayPal, where he served as the GM for PayPal Spain and Portugal since 2009. Both Betka and Martín de Nicolás begin their respective StubHub appointments immediately. Betka will be based at StubHub’s U.S. headquarters in San Francisco, Calif. The appointment of Estanis Martín de Nicolás to General Manager of StubHub International continues his successful career at eBay Inc. He joined eBayUK in July 2003, serving as Head of Technology & Electronics. In March 2007, he moved to PayPal to build the Strategic Client Management department, initially for PayPal UK. In 2009, he moved to manage the PayPal business in Spain. At StubHub, Martín de Nicolás will be based in Madrid.
