As a member of the Intellectual Property Group, Rooksby will counsel clients on identifying, procuring, commercializing, and enforcing patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and other intellectual property rights in both the United States and internationally. Rooskby is an assistant professor at the Duquesne University School of Law where he teaches courses on intellectual property law, torts, social media and the law, technology innovation law and higher education and the law. He previously worked at McGuireWoods LLP in Richmand, Va. Rooksby is vice president of the Pittsburgh Intellectual Property Law Association and a member of the Q. Todd Dickinson Intellectual Property American Inn of Court and the Duquesne University faculty senate.

Cohen & Grigsby P.C. announced that the appointment of two experienced director attorneys to the Business Services Group in the firm's Pittsburgh office. Matthew H. Clark brings extensive corporate and transactional experience providing advice on a myriad of legal issues, including drafting and negotiating acquisition, disposition and debt and equity financing documents; providing assistance with commercial agreements concerning intellectual property, information technology, and business development; providing advice regarding federal regulations related to health care; and handling general corporate legal matters. Prior to his new role, Clark was senior counsel of Evoqua Water Technologies LLC where he was responsible for information technology, sourcing, technology licensing agreements and a wide variety of commercial contracts. Steven M. Taibl has more than 25 years of experience representing clients in a wide range of business transactions, with an emphasis on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, leveraged buyouts and other private equity transactions. He routinely advises private equity firms and their portfolio companies, institutional and individual investors and public and private companies operating in a variety of industries. Prior to joining the company, Taibl was a partner at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP and Bingham McCutchen LLP in Boston. Earlier in his career, he was an associate at Jones Day in Chicago and in Frankfurt, Germany.

Cohen & Grigsby, P.C. announced that Christopher Carson, Chair of the Firm's Strategic Talent Management Initiative, has been elected as the firm's next president and CEO, effective January 1, 2016. Jack Elliott has served for more than 13 years as president and CEO and prior to that time, as the executive vice president. Chris Carson has more than 30 years of experience serving as a trusted legal counsel and strategic business advisor to a diverse client base. He has worked with clients that range from publicly traded global Fortune 500 companies to privately held entities. He focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions and strategic joint venture transactions, and Chris has particular expertise with companies in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and chemicals, and energy industries. Mr. Elliott will begin transitioning his role to Mr. Carson while serving as the General Counsel of Giant Eagle Inc. He will return his focus to the practice of law and also continue to work with the firm in a strategic and leadership capacity.
