The company has been a global marketing partner of the NBA since 1992 and expands its rights over eight years under the new agreement, where NIKE will become the first NBA apparel partner to have its logo appear on NBA uniforms. National Basketball League P/L (NBL) Chairman Graeme Wade says he wouldn't be surprised if the National Basketball Association, Inc. (NBA) one day took a stake in NBL. "If something comes out of that in the short-term or longer-term it wouldn't surprise me," Wade said. "If you look at the way the sporting world is unfolding, it's not outside the realms of possibility, not at all. The big cashed-up global leagues are seeing real opportunities in the local leagues and Australia's a point of focus because of our unbelievably successful contingent we've got there in the moment."
