James Blackledge, who became chief executive of Mutual of Omaha in April, named three executive vice presidents among eight top officers reporting to him. They are: Dan Martin, executive vice president for individual and group insurance, in charge of individual financial services and group benefit services. He started at Mutual as an actuarial assistant in 1983 and has been in charge of group benefit services since 2003. Michael Weekly, who retired, had headed the individual financial services division. Mike Lechtenberger, executive vice president and chief information officer, overseeing technology, applications and systems infrastructure. He joined Mutual as an entry-level programmer in 1986 and most recently was senior vice president for information services applications. Blackledge had headed the information services division. Stephanie Pritchett, executive vice president and chief marketing officer. She was chief marketing and strategy officer for the Hartford Financial Services Group and held senior marketing positions at USAA and Washington Mutual Bank. Pritchett's position is new and follows the retirement of John Hildenbiddle, who was senior vice president for brand management and public relations.

Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company announced that Dan Martin has been named Executive Vice President, Individual and Group Insurance. In his new role, Martin will lead both the Individual Financial Services and Group Benefit Services business units. Martin, who began his insurance career as an actuarial assistant at Mutual of Omaha in 1983, held leadership positions at Guarantee Mutual, B&S Underwriters and Premiere Risk Management before returning to Mutual in 2001. He served as Vice President, Group Special Risk, and Senior Vice President, Group Financial and Product Management, before being named Executive Vice President, Group Benefit Services in 2003. Mike Lechtenberger has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer. He will oversee all of the company’s technology, applications and systems infrastructure. Lechtenberger joined Mutual as an entry-level programmer in 1986 and has held a variety of leadership roles in the Information Services operation, most recently serving as Senior Vice President, I/S Applications. Stephanie Pritchett has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. In this role, she will lead Mutual’s consumer marketing efforts and build a strategic marketing team. Pritchett joins Mutual from The Hartford Financial Services Group, where she was Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer. She has also held senior marketing positions at USAA and Washington Mutual Bank.

Mutual of Omaha's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dan Neary has announced his retirement as CEO effective April 1, 2015. He will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board. The Mutual of Omaha Board of Directors has appointed James T. Blackledge as CEO, effective April 1, and elected him to the company's Board. Blackledge, who joined Mutual in 1989, was named Mutual's president in November. Prior to that, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer/Chief Risk Officer, where he oversaw all of the company's technology applications and systems infrastructure as well as enterprise risk management. Neary joined Mutual of Omaha as an actuary and went on to hold a number of key management positions within the group insurance area. He was appointed president of Mutual of Omaha in August 2003. He was named chairman and CEO in December 2004.
