Green Bay Packers Announces Changes in Leadership

Thomas Olson, a relative newcomer to the ruling hierarchy of the Green Bay Packers, is the new vice president and lead director of the corporation. Olson was elected to those positions at the Packers' annual shareholders meeting at Lambeau Field just as Susan Finco of De Pere became the first woman elected to the executive committee. Olson, 64, replaced Larry Weyers, who reached mandatory retirement age of 70. He practiced as an attorney in Green Bay before spending the final decade of his working career as president of U.S. Paper Mills in Green Bay. Finco, 61, is one of about 10 women in the history of the board and the first to ascend to the executive committee. The first female board member was Rosemary Hinkfuss of Green Bay, presently a director emeritus who was elected in 1980. In recent years, Finco has helped the Packers deal with the departure of Brett Favre and then Favre's return.
