Birch Communications, Inc. Releases New Version of Communicator Application for Mobile Devices

Birch Communications, Inc. released a major enhancement to its Communicator App, which is an extension of its TotalCloud PBX product. Birch's TotalCloud PBX is an enterprise-class phone system hosted within the company's secure Birch Cloud, which is SSAE16/SOC3 certified. Using the newly enhanced version of the Communicator App, new and existing Birch customers can fully leverage their remote and increasingly mobile-dependent workforce. Customers can access all of the premium features of TotalCloud PBX on their cell phone, giving them access to the same business identity while working remotely or working in the office with their IP Phone or Desktop Communicator softphone device. Customers also benefit from a sleeker look and feel, with improved icons, slider bars and dial pad. Added functionality like call park and retrieve and Bluetooth for headsets simplifies conference calls on-the-go. This latest release, along with Birch's recently announced bring user own device option, represents Birch's commitment to delivering products that advance connectivity by placing the power directly in the customer's hands. Birch's Communicator App extends the traditional desk phone-based delivery of its Cloud-hosted TotalCloud PBX solution to remote and mobile workers. The application is compatible with iOS 8 and Android 5.0 Lollipop supported devices and is available for download on iTunes and Google Play.

Birch Communications, Inc. announced the promotion of Scott Murphy to the role of Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Murphy will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management at the company. He will report to Birch's President and CEO, Vincent M. Oddo. Murphy brings more than 25 years of experience that spans several industries to the role. He previously served as the Vice President of Accounting at Birch for the past five years. Murphy's technical skills and proven leadership made him an easy selection for this critical role. Murphy is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), earned his MBA from Emory University and has a BBA in Accounting from the University of Georgia. The company also announced that Rhand Williams will replace Murphy as the company Controller. Williams, who will report to Murphy, will be responsible for managing all accounting and financial reporting functions. Williams is a CPA that previously held VP and executive positions at Gentiva, Verizon/MCI and Sprint where he performed various finance functions including accounting, financial reporting, financial planning, analysis and strategic sourcing.
