L.L. Bean Appoints Hugh Farrington and Matthew Moellering as New Board Members

L.L. Bean appointed Hugh Farrington, former chief financial officer of Hannaford Brothers Company, and Matthew Moellering, CFO and vice president of Express, Inc., in Columbus Ohio as new board members. Farrington held several positions with Hannaford over thirty years. He was the CFO for 10 years. Moellering has been with Express since 2007. Prior to that appointment, he was with Limited Brands and Proctor and Gamble.

L.L. Bean, Inc. Announces Executive Changes

L.L. Bean, Inc. announced the election of Shawn Gorman as its new Chairman. Mr. Gorman replaces Leon Gorman who has served as Chairman of the family controlled Board of Directors. In 2001, Leon assumed the Chairman's position following his retirement as President and CEO, a position he held for over 30 years. Leon Gorman has been named Chairman Emeritus and will remain a member of the Board. The announcement follows the company's Annual Shareholder and Board of Directors meeting held on May 17, 2013. Leon Gorman was President and CEO of L.L. Bean for over 33 years. He served the company for over 50 years in a combination of leadership roles including CEO and Chairman.
