CHS, Inc. Reports Earnings Results for the Third Quarter and Nine Months Ended May 31, 2015

CHS, Inc. reported earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended May 31, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported earnings for the third quarter of fiscal 2015 were $178.1 million, down 53% from $379.5 million for the same period of fiscal 2014. The third quarter of fiscal 2014 included a one-time gain of $108.8 million attributed to the establishment of the Ardent Mills flour milling joint venture in May 2014. Fiscal 2015 third quarter revenues of $8.7 billion declined 28% from the same three-month period a year ago. Net income was $177.8 million compared to $379.9 million a year ago. Income before taxes was $170.5 million compared to $439.6 million a year ago. For the nine months, the company reported earnings attributable to the company for the period represented a decrease of 26% from the $881.7 million reported for the first three quarters of fiscal 2014. Revenues for first nine months of fiscal 2015 were $26.6 billion, down 19% from $32.7 billion for the same period a year ago, primarily due to lower average prices for the refined energy products, grains and fertilizer that make up a significant portion of CHS business. The company reported earnings of $649.6 million for the first three quarters of its 2015 fiscal year. Net income was $649.1 million compared to $883.5 million a year ago. Income before taxes was $696.6 million compared to $999.6 million a year ago.

CHS Names Beth Labreche as Vice President of Enterprise Marketing and Communications

CHS named Beth LaBreche as vice president of enterprise marketing and communications. Officials said LaBreche will oversee branding, marketing and communications strategy. Prior to joining CHS, LaBreche was vice president of strategic development for Minneapolis-based marketing agency Gage.
