CHS, Inc. announced earnings results for the first quarter ended November 30, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported income before income taxes of $435.7 million compared to $269.7 million for the same period a year ago. Net income attributable to the company was $378.7 million compared to $242.2 million for the same period a year ago. Revenues for the quarter were $9.5 billion, down from $11.0 billion for the same period in fiscal 2014, primarily due to decreased average grain selling prices.

Perry Meyer of New Ulm, Minn., has been elected to a three-year term on the board of CHS Inc. Minnesota delegates elected Meyer to the 17-member board at the recent CHS Annual Meeting on December 5, 2014. He succeeds Jerry Hasnedl who retired after 19 years. During its yearly reorganization session following the annual meeting, board members re-elected David Bielenberg to his third one-year term as chairman. Meyer, 60, brings to the CHS Board more than three decades of cooperative and agricultural leadership experience.
