Hovde Group Appoints James Nuber as Managing Director

Hovde Group announced the continued expansion and growth of its investment banking team, with the addition of senior investment banker, James D. Nuber who joins the firm as a Managing Director. Mr. Nuber brings over 25 years of experience in the field of corporate finance and investment banking for financial institutions across the United States, having worked directly with banks and thrifts and their executive management teams on numerous corporate transactions, including structuring and negotiating mergers, acquisitions, branch acquisitions and divestitures, and raising equity and debt capital. Mr. Nuber joins Hovde from Sandler O’Neill Partners, L.P. in New York, where he provided investment banking advisory services to community banks and thrifts.

Hovde Group Names Michael Corso as Director; Opens Atlanta Office

Hovde Group, LLC announced that Michael Corso joined the company as a director as part of the expansion of its investment banking team in the Southeast. Corso previously worked for Kimberlite Group in New York, where he was a director in the financial institutions group covering community banks and specialty finance companies. Corso will be based in Charlotte, N.C., and will provide transaction sourcing and execution, with a primary focus on banks and thrifts in the Carolinas, Virginia, Maryland and Georgia markets. The company also recently appointed Ward Rice, formerly of SunTrust Robinson Humphrey Inc., as a director in the Atlanta office. He also covers and provides investment banking services across the Southeast. Additionally, Hovde Group announced the opening of its Atlanta office.

Hovde Group Announces Executive Appointments

Hovde Group announced the continued expansion of its capital markets and equity research platform, with the additions of industry veterans, Joseph Fenech and Kevin Fitzsimmons who join as Managing Directors in the Equity Research Group, responsible for leading equity research coverage of the U.S. bank sector and Michael Hedrei and Matt Shields, who join as Directors in the Equity Capital Markets Group, responsible for equity sales, market making and trading execution for the firm. Mr. Fenech brings to Hovde over 15 years of experience covering the financial services sector as an equity research analyst and former investment banker. Mr. Fenech joins Hovde from Sandler O'Neill & Partners, L.P., where he was a Managing Director in its research department. Mr. Fitzsimmons brings to Hovde over 20 years of financial industry and equity research experience and also joins from Sandler O'Neill & Partners, L.P. where he was a Managing Director in its research department covering banks, principally in the Eastern U.S. for the past 11 years. Mr. Hedrei brings to Hovde over 10 years of financial industry experience covering bank stocks, and joins Hovde from FIG Partners, where he was responsible for expanding the firm's equity capital markets business. Mr. Shields brings to Hovde over 10 years of financial industry capital markets and trading experience, and also joins from FIG Partners, where he served as a head trader and market maker covering bank stocks nationwide.
