Martha Boudreau Joins Aarp as Executive Vice President and Chief Communications and Marketing Officer of American Association of Retired Persons

Martha Boudreau has joined AARP in the newly-created role of executive vice president and chief communications and marketing officer. Boudreau will lead the integration of AARP's communications, brand and marketing functions to create cohesive, coordinated and innovative strategies that better serve 50+ Americans and their families. Prior to joining AARP, Boudreau served in a variety of high-level positions at FleishmanHillard for over 25 years. AARP Announces Launch of RealPad

AARP announced RealPad, a first of its kind tablet device. Powered by an Intel processor, RealPad is designed to make using technology an enjoyable, easy and affordable experience especially for people aged 50 and older who are still wary or apprehensive about using tablet technology. AARP worked with Intel to develop an intuitive, easy-to-use software interface for RealPad. RealPad will be available for sale beginning this fall at Walmart. Specifications of RealPad were easy to use interface including RealPad RealQuick Fix for users to quickly view the status of their tablet on a dashboard (including battery life, Wi-Fi connection and Bluetooth Status, presence of untrusted apps, etc.). AARP Announces Board Appointments

AARP appointed new members and officers to its board of directors, including the organization's newest Chair, Carol Raphael, and President, Jeannine English who will both serve in this capacity until 2016. New AARP Board members and officers include Carol Raphael, MPA (Chair), of New York, New York, served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Visiting Nurse Service of New York (VNSNY), Ronald E. Daly, Sr., (Vice Chair) of Olympia Fields, Illinois, spent 38 years at the R R Donnelley Company, beginning as a factory worker and advancing to the level of president of its unit. Joan Ruff, J.D. (Secretary/Treasurer), of Mission Woods, is an executive, human resources consultant and attorney from Mission Woods, Kansas. After more than 10 years as a tax attorney, she joined William M. Mercer Inc., Jeannine English, President, of Sacramento, California, has experience in government integrity, legislative redistricting, campaign finance and political reform. Eric Schneidewind, J.D. (President-Elect), of Grand Rapids, Michigan, is an energy attorney from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Beth Ellard is Executive Vice President of Media, overseeing the media function for The Ad Council and securing more than $1.5 billion in donated media support annually for the organization's 50 national public service campaigns.
