Grand Parade Reportedly In Talks To Acquire Peermont Global

Grand Parade Investments Limited (JSE:GPL) is seeking to acquire Peermont Global (Proprietary) Limited. GPI issued a cautionary notice to shareholders on August 15, 2013 about being in advance negotiations. There was no official comment from either GPI or Peermont, but sources in the gaming sector reckoned the companies were in advanced discussions around a potential deal. According to market sources GPI intends to pursue the takeover deal by converting the bulk of Peermont’s debt into equity by offering newly issued scrip to the company’s loan holders. Grand Parade’s share price rose 6.25% to ZAR 4.25.
