MCNC Names Jean Davis as President and CEO of the North Carolina Research and Education Network

MCNC announced that Jean Davis has been named as President and CEO of the non-profit operator of the North Carolina Research and Education Network (NCREN). Davis comes to MCNC from the N.C. Department of Commerce, where she served as both COO and Executive Director of Business, Industry and Trade. Jean's background includes executive management experience with major technology multinationals, entrepreneurial startups and government. She will begin her tenure at MCNC officially on November 17, 2014.
Sentinel Data Centers and MCNC Partner to Extend Fiber, Collocation Services to NC-1 Facility in Durham

Sentinel Data Centers and MCNC announced a broad ranging collaboration through which MCNC has extended fiber on the North Carolina Research and Education Network (NCREN) into Sentinel's NC-1 data center in Durham to serve current and future Sentinel customers. Through the alliance, MCNC also will seek to house its customers' future data center needs at Sentinel's NC-1 facility.
