Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson LLP announced that Jeffrey I.D. Lewis has joined the Firm as a partner in the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice, resident in the New York office. Mr. Lewis concentrates on patent litigation and also handles trademark matters, as well as other intellectual property and general litigation. Mr. Lewis is a past president of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) and a fellow of the AIPLA and the American Bar Foundation. Before joining Fried Frank, Mr. Lewis was a partner at Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP, where he served as head of the patent group.

Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson LLP announced that it has elected seven lawyers to partner and promoted seven associates to special counsel, effective March 1, 2015. The following lawyers were elected partners: William J. Breslin is a partner in the Corporate Department and the Asset Management Practice. Mr. Breslin's practice concentrates on derivatives, futures and commodities. He regularly offers his clients transactional and regulatory advice in connection with swaps, futures and other derivatives products. Mark S. Hayek is a partner in the Corporate Department and the Capital Markets Practice. Mr. Hayek concentrates his practice on corporate finance transactions, including the representation of issuers, underwriters and selling security holders in domestic and international public and private debt offerings. Laurinda Martins is a partner in the Real Estate Department. Ms. Martins concentrates her practice on commercial mortgage, mezzanine and construction financing on behalf of lenders and borrowers, as well as joint ventures, acquisitions and dispositions and loan restructures, workouts and UCC foreclosures. Caroline Sandberg is a partner in the Corporate Department and the Finance Practice. Fried Frank announces Asia staff of plans to close offices with relocations on the cards. Firm may keep service centre in Hong Kong. Fried Frank Harris Shriver cobson is set to close its Hong Kong and Shanghai offices, with the firm announcing plans to shut down the bases by 30 June. Employees at both offices are in discussions about possible relocations after chairman David Greenwald visited the region last week to tell staff about the planned closures.
