Telekom Romania Communications Announces Earnings Results for the First Quarter of 2016

Telekom Romania Communications announced earnings results for the first quarter of 2016. For the period, the company posted loss before interest and taxes of EUR 12.4 million against EUR 100,000 a year ago. EBITDA dropped by an annual 37.5% to EUR 20.5 million. Revenues declined by 7.8% to EUR 137.1 million, primarily reflecting sharply lower voice revenues and timing of ICT projects implementation.
Orange, Vodafone, Telekom Romania Sign Election Contracts with Special Telecommunications Service

Special Telecommunications Service (STS) has signed new framework contracts with Orange, Vodafone and Telekom Romania for coverage during the upcoming elections. The deals for mobile voice and data services are worth a total EUR 843,079. STS has signed separately with each of the three mobile operators framework agreements for a total four years. The largest contract, worth EUR 477,943 was with Orange Romania, followed by EUR 253,688 with Vodafone Romania and EUR 111,448 with Telekom.
Telekom Romania to Invest €180 million in Infrastructure in 2016

Telekom Romania announced that it plans to invest €180 million in infrastructure 2016, and to increase by more than 30% its optical fiber footprint. The bulk of the investment will be directed to the further development and expansion of network infrastructures, on both fixed and mobile technologies. The company said it will increase by more than 30% its optical fiber footprint, aiming to reach 2 million households by the end of 2016.
