The GSMA Announces Step Down of Anne Bouverot as Director General

The GSMA announced that Anne Bouverot, Director General of the GSMA, will leave the organisation to become the Chair and CEO of Morpho. Ms. Bouverot will remain with the GSMA through 31 July 2015.
Global M2M Association and M2M World Alliance Members to Deploy GSMA Embedded SIM Specification Services

The GSMA has announced that operator members of M2M alliances including the Global M2M Association (GMA) and the M2M World Alliance will deploy services using the GSMA Embedded SIM Specification for the remote over-the-air provisioning of machine-to-machine (M2M) devices. In addition to these organisations, network operators Am©rica M³vil, China Mobile, KDDI and Tele2 have become the operators to commit to launch services based on the GSMA specification. According to GSMA Intelligence, nearly 65% of global M2M connections are now serviced by operators deployed or committed to the GSMA's solution, confirming that the industry is moving towards a single, common specification that is helping to accelerate growth and reduce fragmentation in the M2M market.
GSMA Announces the Completion of its Second Mobile Energy Efficiency Optimization Project

The GSMA announced the completion of its second Mobile Energy Efficiency (MEE) Optimisation project, located in Pakistan, working in conjunction with mobile operator Warid Telecom and systems integrator Cascadiant. The project trialed innovative energy-saving technology in Warid's network and demonstrated significant energy savings of between 30 and 60 per cent. When the solutions are rolled out across Warid's network in Pakistan, the annual savings are expected to be more than USD 6 million and 19,700 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. The GSMA also announced that Eltek, Enertika, PowerOasis and Purcell Systems have joined the GSMA's MEE programme as technology partners. The companies are working with the GSMA to deliver MEE Optimisation projects for mobile network operators (MNOs) who wish to reduce their networks' energy consumption and cost, as well as carbon emissions.
