Maidenform Brands LLC Faces a Lawsuit over iPant

Two women from Massachusetts have filed a lawsuit claiming that undergarments they purchased which were supposed to slim their bodies and melt away fat didn't work at all. Wacoal America claimed that the iPant, 'hope on a hanger', would 'reshape your lower body in 28 days with lasting results'. In addition to Wacoal, Annique Bellot and Tara Stefani have named Maidenform Brands LLC as a defendant in their class-action lawsuit. The expensive undergarments were constructed with microcapsules containing caffeine, Vitamin E, fatty acids, and other ingredients that were said to permanently change women's body shape and skin tone.

Maidenform Expands its Comfort Devotion Collection with New No Wire Bras

Maidenform extends its Comfort Devotion line with the launch of the No Wire collection. The new collection includes three wireless bra styles that provide the shape and form of an underwire bra without the wire. Each style features brushed cup liners, signature superior plush fabrics and soft cushioned pads for added comfort and every day wear. A hidden internal support system and engineered foam provide the shape, lift and support a woman needs. Maidenform's trademark Comfort Devotion material can be found at every touch point, while delicate details of lace embellishments, two-tone coloring and ticking bows add a feminine touch to the collection. Launching February 2014, the No Wire bras have a manufacturer's suggested retail of $40.00 and include the No Wire Demi: Sizes 32A-36A and 32-38C-C; Extra Coverage No Wire: Sizes 34-40B-C and 34-38D; and No Wire With Lift: Sizes 32-36A and 32-38B-C. All styles are offered in a variety of basic and fashion colors including Black, White, Latte Lift, Lasting Leopard and She's My Peach.

Class Action Suit Files against Maidenform Brands Inc. and Wacoal America Inc

The plaintiffs allege Maidenform Brands Inc. and Wacoal America Inc. prey on women's insecurities about body image to sell their products. The garments are made using shape wear fabric produced by a Spanish company, Nurel S.A. According to the lawsuit, Maidenform and Wacoal claim the fabric is infused with nutrients that will boost metabolism, reduce aging effects and actually slim the consumer's midsection. The lawsuit alleges those representations are untrue and designed to dupe insecure women into purchasing the products. The lawsuit seeks injunctive relief, restitution and punitive damages.
