Ashurst Announces Board Appointments
Oct 7 16
Ashurst has appointed two new members to its 10-strong board, with London energy partner Jason Radford and Munich finance partner Bernd Egbers making the cut.
Radford and Egbers replace Mark Vickers and Cristina Calvo, whose terms have come to an end. Calvo became Ashurst's first female board member in 2011, while Vickers joined a year later. Radford leads Ashurst's Americas energy, transport and infrastructure practice and became a partner in 2009. He relocated to New York in 2011 to set up Ashurst's energy and infrastructure group. Egbers also became a partner in 2009 and is a member of the firm's banking team in Munich. Radford and Egbers are understood to have fought off competition for the roles from London finance partner James Coiley and Hong Kong high-yield head Anna-Marie Slot. The appointments come into effect from the start of November and last until 2019. Ashurst's board now compromises chairman Ben Tidswell, vice chairman and managing partner Paul Jenkins, London dispute resolution partner Angela Pearson, Perth corporate partner Roger Davies and Sydney employment partner Jennie Mansfield. Robert Gillespie and David Turner also sit on Ashurst's board as independent members. The pair, who are not partners at the firm, were appointed to the board in 2013. Gillespie is former director of the Panel on Takeovers and Mergers, while Turner was chair of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.
