Caroline Faraj has been appointed VP Arabic Services for CNN. In this new position, she will have strategic oversight of CNNArabic.com while also working alongside CNN's Middle East newsgathering team and the CNN Abu Dhabi operation on major cross-platform editorial initiatives and with the CNNI Commercial and Digital teams on new digital opportunities in the region.

CNN International has appointed Sunita Rajan as head - Advertising Sales, APAC. She is joining CNN International Commercial's executive team under chief commercial officer Rani R Raad with a remit to continue building CNN's business growth trajectory in the Asia-Pacific region. Joining from BBC Worldwide from March 2015, Rajan will oversee an extensive client base across the breadth of the Asia Pacific region and will lead teams based across five offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Delhi and Mumbai and a network of representatives across Asia, overseeing the strategy to drive advertising revenue for CNN's global portfolio of multi-platform products among Asia Pacific based advertisers. She will also be part of Raad's management team which guides the brand's international commercial strategy. Yahoo To Reportedly Acquire Scripps Network

Yahoo! Inc. (NasdaqGS:YHOO) may have engaged in talks to acquire Scripps Networks Interactive, Inc. (NYSE:SNI) in 2014, according to an unconfirmed report. Business Insider claims that Yahoo considered an acquisition of Scripps. Further the site claims that Yahoo may have actually begun M&A discussions with Scripps with two different deals; a full acquisition of Scripps, or a separate deal to acquire the Food Network only. Business Insider also quotes a source who claims Yahoo may have also approached Time Warner Inc. (NYSE:TWX) about acquiring Cable News Network, Inc., but suggests that the talks for either a Scripps or CNN buy are no longer active.
