The Carlyle Group LP (NasdaqGS:CG) is in preliminary discussions with competitors including Apax Partners LLP and BC Partners to acquire Beechcraft Corporation, Sky News reported. Blackstone has also been sounded out about its appetite for a deal but is not thought to be interested. Several sources close to Beechcraft Corporation say that they still expected it to become a publicly-listed company. Beechcraft Corporation and the private equity firms declined to comment.
