Ad-Sol Nissin and Lynx Software Technologies Announce Security Collaboration
Aug 7 15
Ad-Sol Nissin and Lynx Software Technologies, Inc. announced a new collaboration focused on providing highly secure solutions to the Japanese Market. Ad-sol Nissin and Lynx have worked together for over 20 years providing embedded solutions based on the LynxOS real-time operating system to top tier Japanese companies in the automotive, manufacturing, industrial, office automation and transportation markets. The new collaboration is focused around new secure technologies from Lynx and has been driven by the increasing demand for security solutions in Japan, especially among the social infrastructure associated with the growing Internet of Things (IoT) market. Ad-Sol Nissin will license the innovative LynxSecure technology to help build secure solutions for Japanese customers in both the IT and IoT areas, and will maintain a very tight collaboration with both Lynx and others security vendors with complementary technologies to LynxSecure. Other key components included in the collaboration include secure networking and storage technologies to help protect both data-in-motion and data-at-rest, and a unique Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) detection technology that uses the bare-metal privileged position of LynxSecure in a system to provide real-time early warning of cyber threats as they attempt to compromise the operating systems running above LynxSecure. As part of the collaboration, Lynx will support Ad-Sol Nissin to form a security research and development center in San Jose, California, to take advantage of the close proximity of the security technologists from Lynx and to accelerate the building of secure solutions.
Lynx Software Technologies Announces Security Critical RTOS Support for Curtiss-Wright's VPX6-187 Platform
Nov 17 14
Lynx Software Technologies, Inc. announced the availability of its board support package (BSP) for the Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions VPX6-187 rugged single board computer (SBC). The new BSP is a part of LynxOS 7, the latest release of the security critical RTOS (real-time operating system) from Lynx Software Technologies. The BSP brings the new LynxOS 7 security oriented RTOS to Curtiss-Wright's VPX6-187 board, adding support for the Freescale(R) Power(R) Architecture QorIQ P4040/4080 System On a Chip multi-core processor. LynxOS 7 is the first commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) real-time operating system to provide open APIs to achieve medium-assurance security per the general purpose operating-system protection profile (GPOSPP). LynxOS 7 provides a layered approach to security adding functionality such as roles, capabilities, access controls, quotas, residual information protection, and self-test allowing applications to immediately design security into their products. LynxOS is already in millions of devices and this new functionality allows both existing and new customers to bring security to the forefront. Curtiss-Wright's VPX6-187 can support up to 8 GB of DDR3 SDRAM, Gigabit Ethernet, USB, Serial ATA, and MIL-STD-1553 using Freescale's QorIQ P4080 processor with 8 E500MC Cores at speeds up to 1.5 GHz. This board represents a significant advancement in functionality and performance for rugged SBCs. With the release of the new BSP, Lynx Software Technologies has created a foundation on which to build ruggedized, high performance, multi-core, complex solutions with deterministic, hard real-time performance using open POSIX-conformant APIs, and security.
