Munich Re, US, and the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) have launched a new app designed to help homeowners build safer, stronger structures in the face of increasing severe weather events. FORTIFIED Home On the Go is an interactive tablet app available for free download from the iTunes Store. It walks homeowners, contractors and architects through the home strengthening process, providing information based on their specific input. The information includes videos, animations, and technical specifications for building and retrofitting single family homes. Information in the app is based on IBHS™ FORTIFIED Home program, which is recognized as the national standard in resilient construction.

Munich Re has appointed Stephan Hochburger and Paul Ludwig to executive positions in the Reinsurance Division (RD). Effective July 1, 2016, Stephan Hochburger and Paul Ludwig will serve as Senior Vice Presidents and Client Executives for the Reinsurance Division. They will report to Steven Levy, President of the Division, and serve on the RD Executive Leadership Team. Hochburger is currently head of the Property Certificate and Program team within RD. Ludwig currently manages the Financial/Strategic Management and Underwriting Support department within the Specialty Markets Division. He was previously head of the Planning & Controlling Department.

Joe Stuhl has been named Senior Vice President, Broker Executive, for Munich Reinsurance America, Inc.’s (Munich Re, US) Reinsurance Division. Stuhl will report to Munich Re, US Reinsurance Division (RD) President, Steve Levy, and will serve on the RD Executive Leadership Team. Previously, Stuhl was a RD Client Manager and oversaw some of the division’s most successful broker relationships. Stuhl first joined Munich Re, US in 2003 as a Casualty Team Leader in the Broker Market business unit. Prior to that, Stuhl held positions at XL Re, Swiss Re America, and Wausau Insurance. He received his bachelor’s degree from Temple University, Fox School of Business and Management and M.B.A. from Drexel University, LeBow College of Business.
