Advertising Age Announces Executive Changes

Advertising Age announced several promotions of their long-term editorial talent. Ken Wheaton becomes editor in charge of all editorial operations for the brand. Mr. Wheaton, who joined Ad Age in 2000, has been managing editor and a regular columnist since 2012 and was the founding editor of Small Agency Diary. Also receiving promotions are Nat Ives, who becomes executive editor, and Natalie Zmuda, moving to the role of managing editor. Mr. Ives joined Ad Age in 2005 as a publishing reporter after covering the media and ad industries at The New York Times. Aside from captaining media coverage and properties including Media Mavens and MediaBuzz, Mr. Ives has shepherded the Agency A List since 2014. Ms. Zmuda joined Ad Age in 2008 as a retail and non-alcoholic beverages reporter and has risen quickly through the ranks. She is currently the editor of CMO Strategy and is the editorial lead on Ad Age's Brand Summit. Simon Dumenco, who has been serving as editorial director since October 2014, will resume his role as editor at large, a role he held with the brand since 2010. As editor at large he will develop several new initiatives for the organization.

Advertising Age Appoints Simon Dumenco as Editorial Director

Advertising Age named Simon Dumenco its editorial director in charge of all editorial strategy and operations for its brands, including Ad Age, Creativity and Internet Week. Dumenco, a longtime Ad Age columnist and editor at large, takes on the role as Associate Publisher Abbey Klaassen departs to join Dentsu Aegis Network as director-corporate development and strategy, Americas. At Ad Age, Dumenco will work closely with the editors and leadership of each brand to enhance coverage, develop new products and events and grow its reach and influence. He will report to VP-Publisher Allison Arden. Dumenco has a diverse background in print and digital media, including serving as consulting executive editor on the launch of O: The Oprah Magazine; editor of Colors, the international culture magazine; executive editor of Seventeen and launch editor of Seventeen Online; and managing editor of Baltimore's City Paper.
