The Boston Consulting Group announced that John Perkins and Christy Carter have joined the firm as partners and managing directors in its Principal Investors & Private Equity (PIPE) practice. Perkins, who is based in Los Angeles, has more than two decades of experience working with financial sponsors. Prior to joining BCG, Perkins was a managing director and head of the financial-sponsors practice at Houlihan Lokey, an international investment bank. Carter joins BCG from CCMP Capital Advisors, where she worked for five years evaluating and executing transactions and overseeing portfolio companies in the consumer, retail, and business service sectors. As senior members of BCG's PIPE practice, Perkins and Carter will advise global investment firms on due diligence and post-close transformation across sectors and asset classes.

The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) has launched its Innovation Center for Operations (ICO), a model factory that aims to accelerate digital transformation in leading companies across a wide range of industries. The Center, located in Paris, France, was designed by BCG, and is owned and managed by a dedicated BCG operations team. The ICOs include real production lines and visionary technology demonstrators, allowing for a unique client experience. Supported by an ecosystem of academic and technological partners, ICOs showcase the impact of new technologies on these production lines, offering immersion, experimentation, and training to ICO visitors on all topics related to Industry 4.0. Visitors are able to experiment with technological tools such as advanced robotics, data analytics, 3D printing, augmented reality, the industrial Internet, and simulation platform. A customized visit to a model factory features capability-building sessions, conversations with Industry 4.0 experts, and hands-on testing of use-cases. The objective of the technology immersion session is to generate ideas about how to implement Industry 4.0 use-cases in the client company's plant.
