ZIM Reportedly Engages Merrill Lynch And Barclays For IPO

Unit of Kenon Holdings Ltd. (TASE:KEN), ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. is looking to get listed and is said to have been engaged advisors for the same. According to sources close to the matter, the company has hired Merrill Lynch unit and Barclays Plc to lead an Initial Public Offering (IPO) in U.S. Earlier, ZIM had planned to raise more than $500 million in a Hong Kong IPO. Maor Aharoni, a spokesman for the company said in an e-mail, “Zim has been contemplating going public and other financing options since 2007. This strategy has not changed. We have nothing to report at this time and don’t comment on rumors.” According to the news report, Barclays did not respond for comments while Merrill Lynch spokeswoman in Israel, declined to comment by text message and calls and e-mails to Kenon representatives in Singapore, Israel and the U.S. were not immediately returned. Kenon’s shares gained 6.8% in Tel Aviv.

ZIM Integrated Shipping Upgrades Asia-Med Services

ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. has upgraded its Asia-Med Services, which include the East Med-Black Sea Express, or EMX, and Asia-India Sub Continent East Med, or AME, Services, due to commence in mid-October 2015. The improved rotation will include extended port coverage, two weekly calls in Haifa and Ashdod and other improvements suited to the needs of the Asia-Med market. The first vessel from the new EMX rotation calling Ashdod on the Westbound leg will be KHE, 36/W ETA Pusan OCT 16th. The new EMX rotation will be: Pusan - Shanghai - Ningbo - Da Chan Bay - Ashdod - Haifa - Istanbul - Novorossiysk - Odessa - Istanbul - Haifa - Nhava Sheva - Port Kelang - Da Chan Bay Pusan. The new AME rotation adds direct calls to the Xingang and Qingdao ports. This service, which previously operated eight vessels, will now operate nine vessels. The first North China vessel will be YYW, 5/W ETA Xingang OCT 13th. The new AME rotation will be: Xiamen - Xingang - Qingdao - Ningbo - Shanghai - Da Chan Bay - Port Kelang - Cochin - Nhava Sheva - Mundra - Haifa - Ashdod - Alexandria - Mersin Xiamen. The new Asia-Med Services provide several key advantages, such as: expanded coverage in North China on the AME line, including a direct and exclusive service from Tianjin (Xingang) and Qingdao; exclusive service from Israel to Tianjin; additional weekly calls on the Ashdod port on the EMX line (21 days); and two weekly calls in Ashdod and Haifa.
