The Pension Protection Fund (PPF) has appointed Ian Scott as head of investment strategy for the £23 billion scheme. The PPF said, as it brought more of its liability driven and wider investment activity in-house, Scott would be responsible for advising on tactical trade ideas and medium-term shifts away from strategic asset allocation. Most recently, he headed the multi-centred and multi-disciplinary global equity strategy team at Barclays.

Rutland Partners LLP may transfer Bernard Matthews Limited to Pension Protection Fund. Rutland Partners is struggling to find a buyer due to concerns over the group's pension deficit. 2 Sisters Food Group Limited is said to be the front runner to takeover Bernard Matthews, howler, talks reportedly hinge on the pension issue. According to a Sky News report, which cited unnamed sources, Rutland Partners could transfer Bernard to Pension Protection Fund. A spokesperson for Rutland told just-food: "It is not the company's policy to comment on speculation in the media about the performance of Bernard Matthews or the pension scheme."
