Syniverse Technologies Announces Earnings Results for the Second Quarter and Capital Expenditures Results for the First Half of 2016
Aug 11 16
Syniverse Technologies announced earnings results for the second quarter and capital expenditures results for the first half of 2016. For the quarter, revenues were $197.7 million, down $18.5 million or 8.5% versus the prior year quarter and up sequentially from the first quarter by $3.3 million or 1.7%. The year-over-year decrease in revenue was primarily attributable to the continued headwinds in the company’s MTS business, partially offset by organic growth in portions of both the MTS and EIS portfolios, all of which I'll cover in more detail later in my remarks. Adjusted EBITDA was $72.1 million, down just $1.7 million or 2.3% versus the prior year quarter and up sequentially from the first quarter by $16.2 million or 29%.
For the first half of 2016, capital expenditures were $31.1 million compared to $32.6 million in the prior year period. The decrease was primarily attributable to lower capital spending on integration activities and lower spending on incremental network capacity. Capital spending during the first half was primarily focused on enhancing existing and supporting new service offerings, modernizing the company’s network infrastructure and executing on the company’s data center moves, which is a key initiative to drive additional cost reductions in 2017 and beyond.
