Syniverse Technologies, LLC Key Developments
Syniverse Technologies Announces Earnings Results for the Second Quarter and Six Months Ended June 30, 2015
Aug 13 15
Syniverse Technologies announced earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2015. Revenues for the quarter were $216.2 million, down $11 million or 4.8% versus the prior year quarter, and up sequentially from the first quarter by $6.6 million or over 3%. The year-over-year decline was primarily attributable to the combination of volume and rate reductions across CDMA portfolio and the impact of a legacy messaging service that went end-of-life in May of 2014. In addition, foreign currency translation contributed $8.7 million to the year-over-year decline, driven by a 19% decline in the value of the euro. These decreases were partially offset by $12.8 million of incremental revenues contributed by the Aicent acquisition during the quarter as well as other organic growth in the MTS portfolio. Adjusted EBITDA for the second quarter was $73.8 million, down 16.6% versus the prior year quarter and up sequentially from the first quarter by $11.8 million or 19%. The impact of FX contributed nearly $4 million or roughly 25% of the year-over-year EBITDA decline. The remainder of the decline was primarily attributable to margin compression as a result of the shift in revenue mix year-over-year.
For the six months, free cash flow, which represents net cash provided by operating activities, adjusted for acquisition expenses and discontinued operations, less capital expenditures, was $34.4 million compared to $12.3 million in the prior year period. The increase in free cash flow was driven primarily by a combination of improved working capital management and lower capital expenditures. Although total adjusted EBITDA has declined by $31 million year-over-year for the 6-month period, net cash provided by operating activities is only $1.8 million lower than the prior year. This is evidence of the substantial improvement in the management of working capital during the first half of 2015. Capital expenditures were $32.6 million for the six month period compared to $57.9 million in the prior year period. The decrease was primarily attributable to significantly lower capital spending on integration activities in 2015 and lower spending on incremental network capacity.

Syniverse Announces New Multi-Year Agreement with Myriad Group
Aug 26 14
Syniverse Technologies, LLC has announced a new multi-year agreement with Myriad Group to enable the authentication of global end users of the Myriad msngr app via Syniverse's Mobile Enterprise Services. The agreement with Syniverse includes direct connectivity to numerous top-tier Latin American mobile network operators that enable increased speeds and stability for Myriad's app subscribers. When an end user registers with Myriad msngr over a mobile phone, Syniverse's highly reliable platform will deliver a one-time verification code via SMS. The one-time code is delivered directly to the end user with low processing latency, subsequently allowing the user to complete the registration and activate the app. An integral piece of the app registration process requires Myriad's subscribers to receive SMS messages. The agreement with Myriad continues a steady stream of Mobile Enterprise Services announcements, including agreements with Amazon China; UK-based mobile video service provider swanbay.tv; threaded messaging communication provider Boomerang; Chinese Internet portal Tencent; and Cleartrip, one of the leading online travel companies in India. From simple text reminders to short video advertisements, the services empower mobile messaging operations to enable the reach, reliability and security that enterprises and over-the-top providers need to achieve business objectives. In addition to one-time passwords, Syniverse helps brands deliver other personalized, time-sensitive actionable information, including reminders, news of sales or promotions, weather alerts, public safety alerts and more. Additional features include intelligent message processing, two-way messaging, and multilingual, multiple time zone support.
