Telecom Italia Media S.p.A. has agreed to form a joint venture with Fastweb SpA to develop fiber to the home (FTTH) that will provide connection speed at 1 gigabit per second. Telecom Italia will hold a 20% stake and Fastweb will hold an 80% stake in the JV. The joint venture will carry out civil works and fiber lay down in the secondary network (from street cabinets to customers premises) on behalf of the two companies.
