Preferred Sands announced that it is expanding its services in the Canadian market. Preferred's added focus on the Canadian market will provide customers with greater access to innovative and sustainable technologies at the lowest distribution cost possible. To lead the charge, Preferred hired industry veteran Neil Garritty as Director of Sales, Canada, and Todd Fedoruk as Regional Sales Manager, Canadian Basins. Garritty joins Preferred Sands with more than 15 years of proven sales and management experience and a background in the oil and gas industry in Canada. His superior communication, negotiation and organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to sell at all organizational levels make him an excellent fit to service Preferred's growing Canadian presence. Joining Garritty will be Todd Fedoruk, a native of Redwater, Alberta. Prior to joining Preferred Sands, Fedoruk enjoyed a successful 10 year career in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Philadelphia Flyers, Anaheim Ducks, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, Arizona Coyotes, and Tampa Bay Lighting. Since retiring from the NHL, he's remained involved with the Philadelphia Flyers organization through the charitable arm of the franchise, Flyers Charities, and currently serves as president of the board of the Flyers alumni association.
Preferred Sands Introduces Heat as Latest Product in its Innovative Line of Polymeric Proppant Technologies

Preferred Sands introduced 'Heat' as the latest product in its innovative line of polymeric proppant technologies. 30/50 Heat, which scored 22K psi in standard ISO crush resistance testing, replaces the need for costly ceramics by providing a superior combination of strength and embedment resistance specifically in wells above 7K psi closure stress. Utilizing Preferred’s flexible Polymeric Proppant Technology, Heat minimizes embedment and maintains fracture width particularly in high clay content formations like the Appalachia. Due to the Polymeric Proppant’s superior bonding capabilities, Heat also ensures near-wellbore fracture consolidation in high-temperature basins such as the Haynesville. Recent well data provided by NavPort confirmed that Preferred Polymeric Proppants are an optimal fit for the Marcellus and Utica regions. The well data, which sampled high clay content wells from the Appalachia region, found that wells that used a Preferred Polymeric Proppant tail-in outperformed competing wells using Raw Sand at comparable vertical depths by more than 100%.
Preferred Proppants Announces Update on Horizontal Wells in New Mexico

Preferred Sands announced that wells using its Arizona Sand proppant outperformed competing wells using Premium White Sand at comparable true vertical depths by up to 28%, or over $1,000,000 in average increased production. The findings were based on real well data provided by NavPort, which sampled deep horizontal wells in New Mexico. Results from the real well production reports also revealed that Arizona Sand proppants lowered the total proppant cost by an average of 10%. All real well production reports are conducted using actual, disclosed public well data from the NavPort database. To ensure the most accurate production comparison, all wells included in a production report are identified using a strict methodology comprised of 18 distinct selection criteria, including operator name, well trajectory, hydrocarbon type, and distance (all wells included in a horizontal real well production report must be within a 1.5 mile diameter of each other). In a study sampling wells in Rio Arriba, N.M. at an average true vertical depth of 5,653 feet, Preferred Sands found that wells using Arizona Sand produced 28%, or $1,100,000 in average increased production, more than Premium White Sand wells, after an average of 11 months. In a study sampling wells in San Juan, N.M. at an average true vertical depth of 5,325 feet, Preferred Sands found that wells using Arizona Sand produced 18%, or $1,151,600 in average increased production, more than Premium White Sand wells, after an average of 11 months. In a study sampling wells in Rio Arriba, N.M. at an average true vertical depth of 5,618 feet, Preferred Sands found that wells using Arizona Sand produced 16%, or $826,204 in average increased production, more than Premium White Sand wells, after an average of 13 months.
