Leica Geosystems Announces New Leica CloudWorx for Navisworks
Apr 1 15
Leica Geosystems announced CloudWorx for Navisworks, a new 3D point cloud plug-in for Autodesk’s Navisworks, a popular design review software used by architecture, engineering, and construction. Leica CloudWorx for Navisworks allows users to more efficiently work with 3D point cloud data of existing conditions and proposed designs in order to make more informed decisions on project plans before construction or renovation begins. Leica CloudWorx plug-ins are also available for Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit and 3ds Max software applications, as well as Bentley MicroStation, AVEVA PDMS, and Intergraph SmartPlant 3D, SmartPlant Review, and SmartPlant Isometrics. Major efficiency and productivity gains for working with point clouds in Navisworks Leica CloudWorx for Navisworks will bring greater fidelity and extended support to rendering, manipulating, and working with point clouds in Navisworks beyond the application’s native capabilities. CloudWorx for Navisworks gives users the option to connect to Leica Geosystems’ powerful Cyclone point cloud database or Leica Geosystems’ new, high-performance data server, JetStream. Leica JetStream data will bring true ease in handling huge data sets of thousands of scans and/or billions of points with full-density point cloud rendering in real-time. With instantaneous point cloud loading and no “regen” lags, these wait times are eliminated, increasing office productivity of cloud-based design review by up to 20%-40%. Leica CloudWorx for Navisworks is planned to be available second quarter of 2015. Ordering information is available from authorised Leica Geosystems representatives.
Leica Geosystems Holdings AG Announces New JetStream Software
Apr 1 15
Leica Geosystems Holdings AG announced its new JetStream software product. Leica JetStream takes Leica Cyclone data and serves the data in a high-performance format that enables dramatically improved productivity for CloudWorx. Leica JetStream eliminates various 'wait times' long associated with point cloud office work. It also provides improved project data management for laser scanning projects. Leica JetStream is a new high-performance, streaming data server for HDS projects, taking data from Leica Cyclone software and serving it in a much faster format to software clients. Leica JetStream’s high-speed data server allows for instantaneous loading of point cloud data sets of any size. No waiting, no 'regens', and no patchy screen. Full-density point cloud rendering is achieved in real time, all the time, for panning, zooming, rotating, orbiting and other interactions, speeding up creation and queries for feature extraction. This easy wait-free handling of large data sets can cut office time by up to 20-40%. Compatible software clients include the full suite of Leica CloudWorx plug-ins for CAD and VR software, with additional clients being supported in the future. Centralised 'Project Vault' for data management: Leica JetStream Project Vault provides a convenient, centralized project sharing platform, enhancing and simplifying multi-user, multi-project work by streamlining project data management and the services environment. Leica JetStream Project Vault is a true archive of project data, including point clouds, images, saved clips and layers from Leica Cyclone, and survey control. It provides a more user-friendly data structure, a simplified data entry-point for users, and the high-performance point cloud files that are an order of magnitude smaller in size! And Leica JetStream Project Vault is user-aware, saving user-created clips and other personalised workspace settings to further enhance individual user productivity across a shared dataset. Flexible and affordable deployment: Leica JetStream users have affordable deployment options to support their usage needs and accommodate single users to large workgroups. It has multiple components, many of which will be available on an affordable annual subscription basis to allow users the flexibility to adjust yearly costs to match current needs. In addition to connectivity with all CloudWorx plug-ins, Leica JetStream is planned to also connect directly to Leica Cyclone modules in the future. Availability: Leica JetStream is planned to be available Second Quarter 2015. Ordering information is available from authorised Leica Geosystems representatives.
Leica Geosystems Releases Leica Spider Software Suite v5
Feb 16 15
With the release of the Leica Spider Software Suite v5, Leica Geosystems offers users a major new version of its market-leading CORS solution. This updated suite offers RTK network operators the most advanced, versatile, and user-friendly solution available for GNSS infrastructures and RTK networks. This new software package enables customers to fully concentrate on their business and the services they provide. The updated Spider Software Suite reliably supports thousands of rover users in the field simultaneously by making software use easier and more cost-effective for RTK users in the field. By means of a highly customisable platform, the Spider suite can be tailored to provide high-speed, real-time management for such applications as GNSS surveying, machine control, GIS, seismic and structural monitoring. Leica GNSS Spider is the core software component of this suite used to centrally manage GNSS networks and reference stations. Also integrated are the Leica Spider Business Center for managing rover user access securely, the Leica SpiderWeb for value-added web services and the Leica SpiderQC for quality control and data analysis. The Leica Spider software suite v5 now uses Leica Geosystems’ software-based licensing system Client License Manager CLM. This allows not only easier, hardware-independent installation and software use but also better tools for managing the entire Spider suite. New user experience within the revamped web front-end of the Spider Business Center allows network administrators and support engineers to manage, monitor and support users in the field without the need for browser plugins by using HTML5 web technology – making 24h support to rover users more efficient and providing user experience to all users on any desktop or mobile operating systems using any browser. Thousands of rover users can easily be supported and contacted simultaneously from one central place.
