CEVA Logistics Receives Five-Year Extension to UK Contract with Miele

CEVA Logistics has received a new five year extension to its UK contract with Miele. The contract, worth $5.5 million per annum, extends a partnership between the two companies which commenced in 2004 and covers a wide spectrum of delivery functions. A two man, white glove home delivery service to the room of a customer's choice, minor installation and introduction of product functionality as well as removal of old machines are included in the contract. CEVA provides Miele with a full suite of back-office services including the booking in of all home deliveries to customers which can be up to 1,000 per week.
CEVA Appoints Ching Guo to the Position of Senior Vice President Global Contract Logistics Technology Operations

CEVA Logistics has appointed Ching Guo to the position of Senior Vice President Global Contract Logistics Technology Operations. He will be based in Seattle, USA reporting to Chief Operating Officer Contract Logistics, Brett Bissell. Guos new role will be multifunctional and global with a specific focus on maintaining and improving process excellence and performance across CEVA's technology operations to improve customer satisfaction and service levels. He will work alongside Solution Design teams to develop more robust globally consistent solutions for customers. He will also work closely with the business development team to grow new opportunities across the Technology sector with the aim of establishing CEVA as the clear industry leader in this arena. Guo joins CEVA from Alibaba where he co-founded the Village Taobao business for the development of online product information, digital payment and last mile logistics.
CEVA Logistics Opens Two New Facilities in Western Australia

CEVA Logistics announced the opening of new facilities at Hazelmere and High Wycombe in Western Australia. The new 60,000m2 multi-user complex at Hazelmere, and bespoke 40,000m2 integrated transport and new vehicle storage facility at High Wycombe, were officially opened by the Hon. Bill Marmion MP, Western Australia's Minister for Finance and Mines and Petroleum. CEVA constructed the new buildings near the Perth Airport freight hub and key arterial roads including the Roe, Tonkin and Great Eastern Highways in close proximity to key infrastructure, and air and ocean service connections. Major customers across the Automotive, Energy & Mining and Consumer & Retail sectors have partnered with CEVA become the launch tenants of the new facilities. The sites have also been built incorporating sustainable design features including translucent roof sheeting for natural light, high efficiency T5 warehouse lighting, solar hot water systems, drought resistant landscaping and rainwater harvesting. The multi-user Hazelmere site has some 4,600 racking locations, continuous loading docks with dock levellers, a weigh in motion weighbridge, a 4,000 m2 breezeway, advanced materials handling equipment, integrated IT and warehouse management systems, and a bonded warehouse. The High Wycombe site, which is designed to process some 25,000 vehicles each year, features hail protection nets, an automated car wash and truck height detection sensors.
