Confluence Launches Unity Performance & Analytics Globally
Oct 28 15
Confluence announced the global launch of Unity Performance & Analytics to provide a robust performance calculation, attribution and risk analytics platform for mutual funds and institutional portfolios. The offering enables global investment management firms to meet the reporting demands of today’s sophisticated investors and empowers them to create an information-driven client model that addresses each client’s unique needs. Designed by a team of experts in the performance analytics field, Unity Performance & Analytics automates the calculation of fund, portfolio and composite returns while providing attribution, contribution, and risk analysis. Confluence’s configurable workflow allows money managers to model and build an internal process that reflects their own operating model and to increase accuracy and control of their performance reporting across the organization. Because data quality is Confluence’s priority, Unity Performance & Analytics also gives performance teams the ability to build tailored validation checks that are relevant to their operations in order to produce trusted end results. Unity Performance & Analytics functionality was rolled out exclusively to Confluence clients in April and is now available globally. Support for institutional portfolios is a major expansion to Confluence's Unity Performance platform, which has long been the industry standard for automating daily and monthly mutual fund return calculations. Unity Performance & Analytics functionality includes: Fund Returns calculates and delivers all of the geometric returns required for mutual fund disclosures and marketing, as well as for internal analysis. Portfolio Performance Measurement provides a broad range of return calculation methods with the ability to control and measure performance across any asset class and instrument type. Performance Attribution for Equity, Fixed Income and Multi-Asset provides the flexibility to use multiple attribution methodologies and enables customisation of the analysis. Risk Analysis enables the measurement and monitoring of risk using a large range of statistics and ratios to be used for external reporting, marketing documents and internal portfolio analysis. GIPS Composite Management is a complete solution that meets the GIPS standard.
Confluence Enhances Form N-MFP Filing Solution
Oct 5 15
Confluence announced the release of its new automated solution for producing and filing Form N-MFP with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Unity® Form N-MFP, which is compliant with the rule changes approved in July 2014 and September 2015. Form N-MFP, finalized by the SEC in 2010, requires the reporting of fund-, class- and portfolio-specific information from money market mutual funds via eXtensible Markup Language (XML) format. Confluence was among the first solution providers to offer a Form N-MFP reporting solution when the rule was first introduced. The significant new requirements include the renumbering and reorganizing of the form; eighteen changes to the form, 15 of which require reporting entirely new data on fund liquidity, fee waivers, security attributes, and other areas.; and new weekly reporting requirements for particular class and series level data points.
Confluence Launches Automated Prospectus Solution, Unity Prospectus
Mar 16 15
Confluence announced the launch of Unity Prospectus, an automated solution that eliminates the need for manual typesetting and optimizes efficiency and control in prospectus creation. By automating the creation and update process, Unity Prospectus eliminates the risk associated with the multi-party, multi-system, manual reporting process that asset managers have traditionally relied upon to develop prospectuses. The solution can also reduce the time and effort spent creating reports by up to 75%. Because Unity Prospectus leverages automated publishing, the typesetter is eliminated and the lag time from raw content to stylized draft is reduced by 99%. Unlike working with a typesetter, the content never leaves the system and updates are made in a controlled and audited fashion, improving accuracy and reducing the risk of inadvertent errors that often accompany manual typesetting. Unity Prospectus drives efficiency and control by enabling asset management reporting teams to divide report preparation into components, work on sections simultaneously and manage the complete process in one system. Individual report sections can then be automatically reassembled into a prospectus for review and dissemination. The solution includes a content library that allows content to be maintained once and reused across documents within a fund prospectus. It also provides the ability to reuse that content to create new fund prospectuses or update changes across all prospectuses that share content, eliminating confusion and reducing potential for error. Unity Prospectus provides editorial control over final content by enabling final review and assigning validation responsibilities to certain team members. Unity Prospectus provides fund managers with: Content Control: A reusable library allows asset managers to update content once, which automatically applies changes to multiple sections within documents. Workflow notifications identify stale information, giving asset managers control over when to update reports. Style Control: Reduces lag time from raw data to a stylized draft by 99%. Report layout, format and style are defined in a controlled template and automatically applied to the user's data, which never leaves the controlled system. Backline Control: Enables multiple team users to identify, track and control changes to stylized content. Historical version control and electronic identification of change mark-ups also removes the line-by-line reviews necessary in a manual typesetting process. Workflow Control: Role-based access and approvals, a robust audit trail and status indicators provide asset managers the control required to effectively manage workflow.
